She modeled for years before she became pregnant with Rolf. Sal was nothing to her. A flash in the pan and while she cared for him... she never loved him. Unwilling to set her career aside to be a mother she gave her child to Sal and never looked back. FATHER: Salmon Newton Scamander was, like his father, a naturalist though he wasn't nearly as famous as his father. Still, he was quite scholarly and famous for his work with the Bicorn. On a trip to aquire a Bicorn horn, Sal was impaled and decoured by the Bicorn. Rolf was only three. He never knew his father. SIBLINGS: Siblings. EXTENDED FAMILY: Newt Scamander - Grandfather and Magizoologist. Porpitina Scamander - Grandmother and Herbologist Newt and Porpitina took to raising their grandchild. He didn't have any memories of his father or his mother and his grandparents, were, for all intensive purposes they were his parents. The Scamanders loved their grandson and gave him everything they had. The death of their only son hurt them deep but felt they had another chance in Rolf. Newt and Propitina spend as much time with Rolf as possible and they look forward to the family dinners they have with their grandson. He'd been out of school for some time and at the time of Voldemort's rise, was studying in Africa with his grandparents. He did attempt some recruiting but the people he came in contact weren't overly involved in English politics. POLITICAL VIEWS Rolf loves everyone. He's a good sort and does believe muggles are amazingly talented and that werewolves should be registered and treated like animagi. Equality is important to him and he would fight for people's freedom. Appearance OVERVIEW: Rolf is tall. He stands at an impressive six foot three and is in very good shape. Though he doesn't hang out in a gym but rock climbs, mountain bikes and hikes. His body has the rough, strong outdoorsy look that isn't quite perfectly chisled but strong and very rugged. Rolf has dark, black hair and green eyes. He gets his looks from his mother, an Irish woman. Though his roots are germanic as well. Rolf is pretty laid back and usually in cargos or jeans and a tee. He spends a lot of time outdoors and doesn't really spend a lot of time worrying about what he has on. There's usually dirt on some piece of clothing. His voice is deep and can be quite loud when he wants to be heard. He usually has a smile one his face and can always be found laughing at something. Granola chic is Rolf's way of life. He always looks good but doesn't go out of his way to do make it happen. He eats healthy and isn't fond of junk food but does like the occasional pudding now and then. Rolf loves to play any sport and is always up for a game but isn't overly competitive. All ioin all, he's a good guy and a good sport. Personality WAND: 15inches, Larch, Phoenix Feather, Bendy. BOGGART: Bicorns PATRONUS: Salamander DETAILED PERSONALITY: Rolf is a good guy. He's easy going and laid back. He loves nature and the outdoors. A very active individual, he's always on the go and loves staying busy. He's not overly romantic and is very pragmatic and forthright. He sometimes speaks without thinking and has an opinion on everything. A very active Ravenclaw, Rolf is a hands-on kind of guy and is willing to try anything once so long as he can learn from it. He excelled in Care of Magical Creatures and Herbology but his favorite subject was Arithmancy. Logical and very linear in his thinking, it takes a bit for him to move out side of the box. He likes to get from point A to point B as fast and as efficient as possible but is willing to see a few of the different routes if it means he'll understand something better. Rolf loves to laugh and will turn anything into a good joke. Funny, charming and whismical, he can easily put anyone into a good mood. He's willing to teach and too learn. Rolf loves knowledge and would love to study anything. It took him a while to get into Magizoology but he eventually realize that his talents belonged out of doors and with animals. Helping and learning are the way to go and his hard work always pays off. History CHILDHOOD: Rolf grew up all over the world. His father was killed by a Bicorn when he was three years old and his mother didn't want a child. Rolf lived with his grandparents and they traveled extensively. When Rolf was seven, Newt and Porpitina retired and settled in Ireland. They knew their grandson would be heading to Hogwarts and wanted him to learn as much as he could about the world he'd be entering. Rolf started his education early. His father, a former Ravenclaw, and mother, a Gryffindor, left their son with a thirst of knowledge and a very outgoing and daring nature. A young scamp, Rolf spent as much time outdoors as possible. He was building rafts and treehouses and pitching tents so he wouldn't have to come indoors. His grandparents introduced him into outdoor sports very soon and he could always be found rock climbing or riding his bike. HOGWARTS. Rolf looked forward to Hogwarts. His grandparents had told him wonderful stories and he was very excited to head off to school. Hogwarts was more magical than he could've imagined. It was bloody wonderful. Being sorted into Ravenclaw was a surprise. Everyone was sure he'd take after his mother with his exuberant nature but Rolf's love of knowledge and passion for learning won out. During his second year of Hogwarts, Rolf became quite fascinated with Quidditch. However, turns out he's complete rubbish on a broom and the sport didn't work for him. Still, he loved the sport and his best mate got him to support Puddlemere United and he became a huge fan. Throughout Hogwarts, Rolf spent many days making friends, learning whatever he could about the castle and spending time in detention for sneaking off the the Forbidden Forrest in hopes of finding an undiscovered animal or plant. He exceled in Care of Magical Creatures and Herbology and by the time his N.E.W.T.S. came around he had received O's every year he'd taken the course. Graduation Hogwarts with nine N.E.W.T.S., his grandfather came out of retirement to help the Scamander name live in in Naturalist. POST-HOGWARTS. Life after Hogwarts was different. A storm had been brewing but Rolf and his family weren't there to live it. Once he graduated, Rolf left with Newt and Porpitina for Africa, Australia and India. The search for magical beasts was what was on the menu for the Scamanders and he loved every moment. On occasion, he reappeared in England for a few months at a time and spent some time working for the Magical Menagerie, procuring animals for sale. He decided not to head down that road and went in search of the Bicorn that killed his father. Part of him wasn't sure it was nothing more than a legend but he was quite intent on finding the beast. Bicorns have notoriously long life spans and Rolf was interested in getting this particular animals horn. Rolf is currently in London working on his first book. He spent the past year in India studying the newly discovered Sajita. A four legged-whiskered animal that resembles a small elephant with a platypus like bill. He's staying in a small flat above the Magical Menagerie and plans on being in London through the end of the summer. Misc.
